root authentication

#1 Post by dalcol »

I recently installed wheezy, and I can get root through the terminal. I installed gparted yesterday, and it asks for authentication:

says no value set

and the correct password entered results in Sorry it didn't work.

I tried to use the passwd command, but it does not update. It does the same thing with synaptic package gui. If I use apt-get, all is well.

What is the problem?

Hi dalcol. I'm also having problem with gparted after I installed it, I get the authentication window, where it asked for the user password. Any help?
