Hello All,

Trying to install gnuradio dependencies and running into a problem dpkg errors. At first is was kicking back locale errors now I am getting this.

You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libicu-dev : Depends: icu-devtools (>= 52.1-7) but it is not installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
root@kalinotebook:~/pybombs# apt-get -f install

Does the Kali Linux distro or packages enter into this anywhere?

Yes this is Kali Linux, no luck with a solution from their forums. Not sure what the real issue is here assuming that as the error response goes Packages can't overwrite the file that's in use in another package? Is there a flag that can be added to grant it permission to overwrite regardless??

Kali is very different from Debian and is intended for expert users only.

Try a different distribution.

Overwriting a binary from another package is going to have unpredictable results, so you are on your own.

For "leet experts", the Kali forums don't really seem to be very helpful, eh?

Anyway, the command to allow for the overwriting of files is "dpkg -i --force-overwrite xxxx.deb"

This may break something, you need to find out what that file is for.
