Debian8 Cinnamon - Solid as a rock.

#1 Post by mdavies5 »

A long time user of Mint LMDE but always wanted to run Debian directly. This install went perfectly. I added wifi driver and NVidia driver with help from the community. I've installed all the software I normally use, which is audio/Video and Development tools. Everything works perfectly; congratulations to all involved. When will Debian8 be released as stable?
Cheers, Michael

I installed Debian 8 rc-1 net-install and, yeah, no problems, runs like a champ.

Hint: don't choose to install any "desktop"; stick with minimal OS, then add what you need, or else you'll get everything including the kitchen sink (LibreOffice).
