Installing Linux on a smartphone

I'm installing Linux on an Android Kitkat phone (version 4.4.2, VF685) using a tutorial. Everything looks ok, untill the command:
sudo fasbtoot oem unlock
I get stuck with the message <Waiting for device>... Any ideas? Thanks.
