New mesa released in the official jessie backports

#1 Post by gradinaruvasile »

Just a heads up that a new version of mesa was released in the jessie-backports repository, its at version 11.1.1-2~bpo8+1, pretty much the version that is in testing. If you have a new AMD/Intel (or nvidia if you like nouveau) video card using the open source drivers, you should try upgrading. Best is to use a newer kernel too from backports (4.3 is available). And the xserver-xorg-video-intel from backports too if you use intel video card.

Thanks for the info! Upgraded both kernel and mesa. Going great so far.

EDIT: A bug disappeared! :) In Xfce, when I wake the laptop from sleep, it would show the desktop, but be frozen for around 10 seconds. It's gone now, but I don't know if it's the kernel or driver stack.
