^But of course, it works fine. My Windows XP works just fine, too. Albeit without support.

Even Debian moves on sometimes :D

Although discouraged, Debian sometimes includes software from after the Renaissance according to the uncyclopedia.

Heh, heh "uncyclopedia" is funny, thanks for that, I don't agree with some of what it says, but no matter, I got a laugh,..
Just for fun and curiosity I did get the Debian 1.1 binaries and installed Debian 1.1 and found packages still available, Personally I like that Debian does maintain archives and keeps even pre-historic software available.
Yes Debian does move forward as well, and for those that depend on support from the Debian support team, they do need to move forward as well and use the supported versions. I am also glad and thank full Debian offers the support they do, for the cirrent versions.

Updated to Jessie some months ago (fresh install to be more correct..). Works like a charm, look for my earlier postings.
Concerning 2 servers running webdav to have global access to files (mainly music documentary photos).
I must admit: little problems since the move from D6.x to D8.x.... (x necessarily not being the same... ;) )

PS: had more problems with the 2TB Seagate disks... after > 2yrs just out of guaranty...
Approached them through FB and at the end all 4 disks were replaced for free....
Luckily .. no loss of data. Enough backups...
