Hi,

I am newbie on Debian and would like to get more things about it and need your advices. Does it requires any maintenance or any secure cares as it is on Windows OS?

I know that no antivirus and anti malware are required for Linux.

any suggestions about how to keep my system clean and work perfectly what cares should i do periodicaly?

Keep your system up-to-date.
If you stay with Debian stable (or oldstabl) and official repositories, maintaining you system means keeping it up-to-date. An update-manager will warn you when updates are available, or you can use a graphical packager manager (synaptic or kadept if my memories serve well) or you can use the command-line tools (apt, apt-get or aptitude). ex: If you install 3rd party software (non-free section) then you want to think first. Flash is installed on my computer but I will remove it because it is too much of a mess.
If you want to install from 3rd party repositories, you may be on the wrong path. If you want (at all cost) a more recent version of firefox or vlc, check the backports, the other branch then in last resort the mozilla or vlc repositories.

As long as you stick with debian repository for your branch (stable) and install updates, you will be fine.

using linux means you'r more responsible, compared to windows.
many newbs don't get that, start messing around left and right, and then complain when things break.

Thanks sirs for your kind advice's. I will use your recommendations. I will think and search before type and break something. I am falling in love on Debian. I have Debian jessie. i have added backports and some non-free on source list. I also check updates yesterday by software manager. I also update kernel.

what is your favorite 3rd party softwares and utilities, sources?
