Application - Minimize & Pause option

Hi
I hope this tends to be a good idea: there should be a minimize & pause option in the Desktop Applications (together with min, max, close) to make the laptop battery last longer and to make the load on the CPU less. This may benefit other systems too.
This is infact existing on virtual box, when a virtual machine is paused and gives advantage(s) overall.
I hope its of value to FOSS.
