Liquorix kernel for stretch

Hello,

In the past I have been compiling kernels myself but as this task is becoming more tedious due to lack of time, I am asking if someone is offering desktop tuned kernels like the above mentioned?

I tried searching already in this forum and the liqourix forum but to no avail unfortunally. Maybe I missed some repo from stevepusser?

It's just a kernel, I used to use their kernel in wheezy with no issues and anyway sid & stretch are pretty close together now.

Nah, that is not viable long-term

I will do my part then and upload debs on my google drive for those who want it and share it here.

You say that liquorix only offers a kernel for sid. Why do say this? I believe that is is not for Sid, it is from Sid (hence the Sid in the sources.list). Their web page does not say that it is only for sid and since Stretch and Sid are not different releases it would be odd if they made that claim. In other words, there are changes backported to the stable kernel that make the kernel there different from the same version in Sid, but this does not apply to testing, it is just an older Sid kernel.

It will be fine on Stretch. Just ask the developer if you need more convincing.

I've seen a notice that the OBS added support for Debian:next (testing) builds when they added Ubuntu 16.10, but I can't find it anywhere. Please, don't let them mean that 16.10 is the same as Stretch. :(

What Liquorix does is tune the latest kernel. I have used several Liquorix kernels on several Debian versions. They are great for testing problems. They are easy to install, easy to try and easy to remove. Don't remove your Debian kernel.

I suggest that you spend some time reading the instructions on the Liquorix site. Also, spend some time reading posts in their forum to get a feel for the latest issues.
