psmouse serio1 errors with Stretch release

#1 Post by johny »

Just upgraded my laptop from Jessie to Stretch.

Everything looks ok, except for the following error msgs in the start-up:

Code: Select all

johny@debian:~$ sudo dmesg |grep psmouse
[ 5.409171] psmouse serio1: synaptics: Unable to query device.
[ 6.612338] psmouse serio1: Failed to enable mouse on isa0060/serio1
The errors only appear with Stretch. Never saw such errors when Jessie was in my laptop.

Strange thing is, I am using a wireless mouse with a USB receiver. It's not a PS mouse. Not sure what I can do to fix or eliminate the errors.

Any help?

does everything work ok? if so, don't fix what isn't broken.

So far, I haven't found any breakage, besides this error msg. Just wondering why this error msg shows up after I upgraded my laptop from Jessie to Stretch...
