freeze when shutting down monitor on Dual monitor setup

#1 Post by luctins »

I'm on a dual monitor setup, one landscape and one portrait.
When I manually(power button) shut off a monitor, it freezes my desktop.
Ctr-Alt-f[1-7] has no effect, the only thing that does solve it is Alt-Sysreq-(REISUB).
Not using Nvidia card, using

Code: Select all

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 (rev 06)
(from lspci) with DisplayPort cables.
On debian 9 using gnome 3.22.2 with Wayland as the graphic server.
Help or directions would be appreciated.
edit:spelling and more info.

You won't be the only one complaining about freezes, it happened on mine desktop too. See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=884116

Curiously, no one has replied to my thread about it yet, even though it's a major, critical bug. Here it is

Just pray there will be a fix soon. Or implement one of the workarounds in that thread.
