YES! 25 years ago it was announced that Debian was born. I read this notice on "calendar", open your terminal and write "calendar" > Aug 16 Ian Murdock founded Debian, 1993. I immediately took a look on Wikipedia that i read a few stories about it.
Years later, i being part of this distro who has served me in my everyday works.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to the growth of Debian. Congratulations! And thanks to Ian who's in peace.
All my systems are Debian or Debian-based. I have stayed and will remain faithful, I recommend Debian to my friends and interested parties when I was given the opportunity.
Long Life to the Debian!

Re: Debian Name Born Today
It's a bit tricky to know when to actually celebrate Debian's 25th since there are a few relevant dates
16th Aug 1993 - project started
15th Sept 1993 - version 0.01
26th Jan 1994 - version 0.90 [first public release]
17th June 1996 - version 1.1 [first full public release]
I think the first internal release is generally considered to be the anniversary of Debian. Either way, happy birthday/anniversary to a great distro which helped me learn a lot about Linux. It's a very important OS to me and a great comfortable stalwart 'backup' for any situation.
