Is there any software you miss that used to be in Debian?

Here you can discuss every aspect of Debian. Note: not for support requests!

geeqie I bit fat for my liking but you do get an awful lot of bang for your buck. I really like the way you can set your image editor, view the metadata and set wallpaper. But it does way way more than that
Now that's the ticket - even more to my liking. Gratitude.

phpbb3
This is the software used for this forum and was last available for "jessie;" so one might presume this forum is running with oldoldstable unless it's been installed otherwise. This page says it all: tracker.debian.org/pkg/phpbb3: :(
package is gone
This package is not in any development repository. This probably means that the package has been removed (or has been renamed). Thus the information here is of little interest ... the package is going to disappear unless someone takes it over and reintroduces it.
Now a friend of mine would like to set up a forum and is familiar, as all users of these boards are, with phbb. Since there are no deb packages available, the only way seems to be by following the instructions on the upstream site, but this goes a bit against the grain for a dedicated Debianite. But I'll now have a look for an alternative.
DebianStable

Code: Select all

$ vrms

No non-free or contrib packages installed on debian! rms would be proud.
