Follow the wiki instead:

https://wiki.debian.org/FlashPlayer/

I would seriously consider not using flash as it is a bug filled abomination full of security holes. That is... unless you absolutely have to.

Some of the Ikea furniture planners don't work, including the one that I wanted to use. I tried some others and they worked fine.

Ikea probably designed and tested it for Windows only. It will not work with Debian and Ikea won't be motivated to correct it because Windows has 98% of the desktop market and everything else doesn't matter to them. Perhaps when Ikea converts everything to HTML5 it will work correctly in Linux. One can only hope.

Seems to work for me.

Using LXQt, Chromium. I have pepperflashplugin-nonfree. (Don't have Firefox...)

A message appeared in the address bar telling me a plugin was blocked. I unblocked it.

I "managed" flash by allowing it
