Does anybody have any ideas on how to better get the word out there about thses forums? I've talked to some people who didn't know they exist. I would love to see them become more popular. I could see them to be a needed resource especially when Etch is released for those trying it out will have lots of questions.

I guess you can try
1) posting to debian-user mailing list ( http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/ )

2) include information about this in wiki.debian.org

Post some links (generously) on LinuxQuestions.org. I'm pretty sure they get hundreds of hits per day from people seeking help.

If you have a weblog or home site, put links on there.

Maybe whoever made the logo above should make some banner ads. 120x600 and 468x60 are popular banner sizes.

Promoting these forums is fine if you like, but beware to not actually spam and/or harass any other website or mailinglist about this forum. While probably well-intended, that's not appreciated, and I *will* remove accounts of people who are really spamming and stuff like that (possibly with a warning first, but if it's serious, then directly).

People should visit these forums if they were looking for this or something similar, but not be pointed to this forum if they were not looking for this in some way.

But please feel free to go on with spreading the word! Just do it with consideration.

I'm fixing to rebuild my two websites to be linux sites since I've done nothing else with them.

I'll certainly place links back here and to slackware since they are my OS of choice.
