Spacefun you have to be joking? I can't change that fast enough. It looks like something a ten year old would have on his or her pajamas!

I don't really like Space Fun , but it does go with their "Toy Story" Themed distribution names ... Just sayin'
I prefer medium gray background most of the time , with an occasional Hubble Pic , CPU silicon , or maybe a Nuclear explosion once in a while. :D

Workaround: Repaint your walls! :) I mean, since we're already accustomed to using ndiswrapper, compiling kernel,
killing modules, ..., why not go all the way?

repaint my walls...

sounds like something I should be able to do using the gimp
than scale and convert with inkscape...

finally, something that Linux can do for aImagequick buck.....

For anyone who's looking for the way to replace the space fun theme here's how:

Code: Select all

update-alternatives --config desktop-background

Code: Select all

update-alternatives --config desktop-splash

Code: Select all

update-alternatives --config desktop-grub

Code: Select all

dpkg-reconfigure desktop-base
and finally, edit /etc/gdm3/greeter.gconf-defaults and add a line like

Code: Select all

/desktop/gnome/background/picture_filename /usr/share/images/desktop-base/moreblue-orbit-wallpaper.svg

Thanks for this! I think a lot of users will search the web for a way to replace it. I also think it should be in the Howto section.

Oh man  Seriously, Debian (and all other) devs should be forbidden to vote on artwork (actually, coders should be forbidden to vote on anything that even smell on "art" and "artistic").

EDIT: Changed the misinformation in the first post about all the contestants being available as packages.

At least it is easily removed or changed for those who don't like it. No problems.
Try a minimal install,
aptitute -R install [packages]
you don't get spacefun

It must really be great to create a theme with the reaction: tons of how-to remove it (all over the net).
Well done.
(it could be a trick to make sure people get to know your name....)
