Happy new year 2007!

#1 Post by thamarok »

Hello!

It's new year in GMT time and I would like to thank Linus Torvalds, Ian Murdock, the Debian Development Team and the moderators of this forum for their hard work. Good luck for the next year and let's see a more enlightened future for Linux.

Also, happy new year to all forum members and have fun!

My dog was the one that woke me from a deep champagne sleep. I had to get up and take him outside to do his thing while a light rain fell on my head.

In my case I'd need to rip out the sound card ;)

I don't have a real dog right now, we have a cat, who thinks he is a dog. When you whistle and call his name (Pocky - from the old SNES game Pocky and Rocky), he comes running, he will play fetch with a ball, and he loves to rough house on the floor but this requires the wearing of thick leather gloves.

The dog I am going to do in as my first act of the new year is my avatar:

and as you can see, that is now done. Or will be soon if my upload is slow.
There's a story about why this icon as my avatar but it's long and boring.

BTW, it's raining here too, temp is 6 Celsius - 43 F. Not bad for this time of year, usually it's heading towards -20 C and it has reached -40. I'm not fond of winter so it's no boohoo here. Snow is okay, just let it fall on the ski slopes and not on the roads! Or my driveway.

This requires the person putting on the gloves to wear chain mail.

I think there ought to be a forum requirement that the forum reader should be awake for at least an hour before reading any postings. I almost googled the word "Forumites". F, there's dumb and then some days there's me.

BTW, don't ever post swamp land going really cheap!
