Just installed kernel 4.11 on my laptop which is giving "new life" to my wifi. I can only recommend to install that kernel as it has brought new speed to the device.

On my Ubuntu-box I've installed kernel 4.10.0.21 and that kernel is just fast. The device runs Artful Aardvark a.k.a Ubuntu 17.10. I'm considering to install Linux 4.11 on that box too but for now it's really stable so why take the chance?
Better to have stability than live dangerously close to re-install.

Now that grsecurity has closed it's doors I'm using Alpine's linux-hardened kernel:

Meanwhile in Arch, Daniel Micay is tracking the 4.11 series and seems to be updating it several times a day — what a guy!

Just installed Linux 4.12 RC6 on my Ubuntu laptop and boy is that a fast kernel...

Networking just got better andmore stable I like this upgrade a lot.

I've been stickin' to the 4.9.x series in Devuan (4.9.30-bpo) and PCLOS (4.9.34), my machine loves 'em. I just hope it'll like the next highest LTS.

Ha ha, yeah, it is finicky, it has a lot to do with iommu and the VIA USB 3.0 chip. She's a picky 'girl', lol.

I stopped installing and testing new kernels.
I found out according to my tests, that ubuntu's kernel 4.4.39 can't be improved in terms of performance and behavior with my laptop (Acer Extensa 5230).

I dont even try anymore with any other kernels.

, this kernel works perfect in this model.

Same here, if the highest LTS works good, I use it and stick with it, and keep it updated.

This is crazy, i cant move on from kernel ubuntu's 4.4.39, ive tried last 4.4.x, i tried last debian's , i tried 4.8.x branch, 4.1.x, debians's 4.13 Its very , very extrange, but i dont feel confortable with another kernel, I must have some kind of super power, cos i can feel the performance difference even when they might be milliseconds difference, dude, Im able to feel it..wtf, at first i thought it could be some kind of placebo effect, but its not, its not definitlly, I can stand up some other kernel for some few days until i realize its not working same well so i come back to 4.4.39.. its really , really weird in my opinion.. At first, I was able to be improving, moving from kernel to better kernel, until i reached 4.4.39...

Phoronix needs to throw away all their scientific testing computers and programs and just hire you to test kernels by "feels", then.

I think this must be a some kind of ability similar /analogous to wine testing, I really got it.

@bester69, everybody here thinks that you are completely full of sh*t and the only way to change that is to post some objective benchmarks to _prove_ that your "superpowers" do in fact exist.

Oh, and also sometimes I have no clue about how to solve a problem, or how to do something, so I I get tired after reading tons of documentation, manuals, etc,...and none of it makes sense, so I go to sleep,... amazingly when I wake up , I just know the solution,... "sleep on it", and then these dreams, and cosmic revelations, and then I wake up.
