Is this a RAM/Motherboard/Display problem ??

#1 Post by scdas141 »

Hi everyone..

I am running, "SPARKYLINUX" -- Debian sid 64-bit, without any issues for a long time..

But since recently, I have had random PC freezes from time to time, once I encountered the black display while starting up Thunderbird on a regular basis, I recorded it with the GTK-recordmydesktop @ https://sourceforge.net/projects/recordmydesktop/

Here is the screen-record video showing random black at 00:03 seconds at Thunderbird launch..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxqEvt2crMI

Here are some terminal-outputs which might help:

uname -a:

Code: Select all

Linux ik--pc 4.9.0-8.1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 4.9-9 (2017-02-07) x86_64 GNU/Linux
lspci:

Code: Select all

01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101/2/6E PCI Express Fast/Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 01)
I have run memtest a no. of times succesfully, so I can safely say that RAM is in the clear..

I have a sneaky feeling that probably my integrated video has gone kaput ??

Thanks in Advance for needed help..

When posting over there include terminal output with Thunderbird starting (redirect into a file if needed), Xorg log and relevant part of system log.
