Do you know why there's no unity desktop available from other than ubuntu?,
A fork or something that make use of a unity's base line also would be worty.. I'd like to have it.

mainly because Ubuntu patches the packages that Unity uses way too much. In other words, too many core libraries have to be modified and patched just to make Unity work.
