Setting colour to 8-bit messes up Roxterm among others

#1 Post by THX1138b »

I have installed antiX 16 on a Wyse V90L thin client. I wanted to reduce the color depth from 16-bit to 8-bit but when I do that, some aspects malfunction and I don't know why. The Roxterm terminal in particular becomes unusable. Below are some screenshots with the xorg.conf file set to 16- vs 8-bit. You can see it has affected the terminal and the conky window thing.

color depth of x server?
apps probably expect certain default settings, you mess with that, you have to follow it through.
and don't expect any performance boost from it.
