Debian is one of the largest GNU/Linux distributions. It is used by many as a base for their own spins and custom distributions. Debian is one of the oldest distributions, thus it has a very good reputation. Debian is hailed as one of the most stable distributions ever, and each Debian Stable release (the official one) is suported for up to 5 years (3 regular and 2 LTS). As a bonus, every major DE and WM is avaiable on Debian.
The current Stable release is Debian 9.2, codenamed Stretch.

Maybe because of this. For anything else than the intended purpose, it's rather unstable and pain in the ass to maintain. It however shines where it's meant to shine, so maybe bringing it up isn't that odd with appropriate disclaimers like yours.

They are based on Ubuntu, yes. Which is based on Debian.
If we go by that, we will be listing distros here until the end of time. That's why I posted a little parody, since OP's thread is meaningless. Anyone can find the list of Debian-based distros, if they choose to.

I am presuming that the OP intended for a list of distributions that have the Debian repositories listed in /etc/apt/sources.list — this is not true of either Ubuntu or Mint (excepting that LMDE aberration) and so they have no place in this thread (IMO).

They all seems to have a quality work behind them, they also seems to get good reviews. This post is intented to introduce interesting a good debian's distros such as, for example:

Terms like quality, the best, the biggest, the greatest, n° 1, indispensable, must have, etc... are vague terms which say nothing meaningful.

That's politicians', corporations', "celebrities'", media, etc... B.S. language.

@OP As far as I know, antiX is the best live USB distro.
