If it doesn't relate to Debian, but you still want to share it, please do it here

Installing GIMP 2.10.2

Anyone figured out how to get GIMP 2.10.2 installed. I'm not a pro coder. I haven't been able to find instructions for installing on Debian 9

Instructions:
https://www.gimp.org/downloads/

You need to install flatpak, and then flatpak will do the rest for you:
Code: Select all
flatpak install https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.gimp.GIMP.flatpakref

It's also been backported to the Stretch-based MX Linux test repo...though it required backports of libglib2.0, fontconfig, and freetype, so far those have been working fine.
The MX Linux repositories: Backports galore! If we don't have something, just ask and we'll try--we like challenges. New packages: Kdenlive 18.08.1, Pale Moon 28.1.0, wine-staging 3.17, qBittorrent 4.1.3, Liquorix kernel 4.18-13, Audacity 2.3.0

In case anyone is interested, I have the new 2.10.4 release built for Stretch in an independent OBS repository:

https://build.opensuse.org/project/show ... -backports

There are some reports that the newer Freetype packages it brings in won't render old fonts like Dejavu fonts very well, though that should also be seen in Buster. The solution is to use better fonts like Noto.
