Would anyone visit my website for a school project?

Postby jfab » 2019-11-30 20:02

I've read the forum guidelines and I think this post is allowed because it's not for commercial purposes. I apologize if I'm mistaken.

I'm doing an undergraduate cybersecurity project on browser fingerprinting. I created a website similar to https://panopticlick.eff.org/ that collects your browser's fingerprint and displays the results.

I'm looking for people to visit the website and submit their fingerprint so that I can analyze the results for my project. No data will be collected unless you explicitly press the "What's my fingerprint?" button.

Website: https://whats-my-fingerprint.herokuapp.com/
About page: https://whats-my-fingerprint.herokuapp.com/about
Source code: https://github.com/jtherrmann/fingerprint

Bonus points for visiting with multiple browsers or devices (phone, tablet, etc.).

HUGE thanks to anyone who visits!

JavaScript fingerprint
Fingerprinting data collected via JavaScript, reported via an AJAX request.

Note: Your fingerprint was not recorded because it appears you have already visited this page and submitted the same fingerprint. If you believe this is an error, please contact me.

^^^ This error message occurs with some web browsers when JavaScript is absent or disabled. This occurred with Dillo 3.0.5 and NetSurf 3.8.

I also saw the javascript message in firefox-esr (Debian stable) but the site still identified the user agent. I'll visit again later from OpenBSD -current.

I apologize for never replying to this thread. My post was initially removed, and I didn't realize it was restored. In any case, the project is over, but thanks to everyone who visited!
