Can have a peek here
Every cloud has a silver lining, except for the mushroom shaped ones, which have a lining of Strontium 90.

The layout is fine I guess although the colors seem way to bright. If it was a darker grey it would be good.

A two things.
1) You need a language switcher (it may be at the bottom...).
2) I think some of the text could be removed. For example, the last sentance of getting started would be better located when the users is on one of the get debian pages.

Other than that, nice mock-up. 8)

Still too complex and busy if you ask me but it is a improvement IMO. I woudl like to see very simple and basic that would not even confuse granny-newbie and then have a link to the more technical section of the site. I would gladly put in the time to come up with something.

Heck, I would gladly put in some time on any change even the current proposal .... where do I sign up?

I think I'll design something simple for the site, but I'm not promising anything. Usually my designs are pretty simplistic, I prefer content to pretty.

You and I both. I'm willing to learn, however.

A great mockup! Atleast I would understand that page; if I was new to Debian I would never figure out how to get to the download page, and then I would need to Google around just to know about an URL like http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/

Do you know some PHP and JavaScript too? I would be interested to work on a new layout, but it should be cross-browser compatible and functional in the sense that the end-user will understand what it is about.. That's a big challenge though, because most browsers use different algorithms and schemes to render pages..

I could test the mockup if you make one :P

PHP, I really don't like Javascript. IM me if you want to work together on a site or something, although tonight is the first meeting of my local LUG so I'm leaving pretty soon

I only work with you if you know how to design art. A website is art. Good art is art. Bad art is playschool kids' sketching.
