dmn_clown, you raise good points. Linux is all about choice. That's why I run Debian on my primary machine. For newbies that want to try a distro, I ofternpoint them to Mint, or now maybe PCLinuxOS due to their out of the box support for proprietary codecs. Yes I know they are only a download away but for new users, their best chance for success is a bit of hand holding. And my killer app that I wish all distros would come up with is better out of the box support for wireless networking.
