Debian vs Slackware

slapt-get is very similar to apt-get except that it has very limited dependency checking. It basically uses Slackware's tools and downloaded the packages you specified. You can use it in combination with Gslapt for a sort of synaptic like interface.

Pat puts out a very good distro, but I eventually stopped using Slackware because I found myself too attached to Debian. :) Yes, I could dual-boot, but I'm also looking at other distributions.
