I could put everything back together again, but I'd have to know for sure that x is working as well as sound. Otherwise it's just a fun cli excursion, besides right now is the hight of my Rugby viewing season so I've got litle time for mucking 'bout with what-ifs.nadir wrote:I clicked on the avatar of he-she-handheldcar to figure out what all that is about (he is a she, she is a he?) and guess what/where i ended:

Impressive, i first have thought it was a joke (with "it" being: "real Debian users run the Hurd")
(as -perhaps- known i got the Hurd installed, with lots of blood and tears, but failed installing X. Then i gave up. Might be worth another shot with that how-to in the hand).
PS: Arghhh... i should have read more before posting:
"I actually could not see a GUI, but maybe your hardware will work. "
Cheers.
Good times, Fun times. But, seen from now and here, it was just a waste of time with no result (in my case).
Well: installing Debian/Gnu/Hurd or Debian/Gnu/KfreeBSD or FreeBSD shows me that i like Debian/Gnu/LInux a lot, and how much it offers to its user in terms of comfort. Its an amazing system.
I got a few PC/laptops around on which it dosna make any sense to run a gui anyway (at that time i didn't have them).
But then: i'm in the middle of the Bash-season...and still am struggling with BSD (whenever i used it, once or twice a week).
I need to search for that thread, it might contain some useful hints.
btw: I am glad to see cafelinux is still rocking . It was down for a long time, and i was in a worry.
