I'm working on a Debian site as well. But first getting familiar with Debian. Then i have more knowledge to share.

Why being embarresed about Ubuntu?? I think many linux users today made their first steps with Ubuntu since it's much more user friendly then Debian.
The learning curve is less steep.

I meant : Ubuntu was buggy...And yes I've learned quite a few things about linux, thanks to Ubuntu. But still I think Debian is better

its like driving a 4cylinder turbo mustang and thinking it is awesome and has a lot of power....and then driving a real mustang with a V8 and realizing your folly...

Moreover, I hate things being done for me, especially, if they are done the way I don't want them to be. Ubuntu has too much of that dose.

Started with GUIless Woody back in 2002. Tried Ubuntu a couple of times but always ended up replacing it with Debian. Not that I disliked Ubuntu, I just happen to prefer Debian that's all. I feel home with it. I am running a squeeze 64 now and I just enjoy the ride!

No, basically i say is that 99,9% of everything what goes wrong is the fault of the user. that 0.1% is de OS and it doesn't matter which OS it is. Computers are stupid machines which can't do nothing on their own, they need human input. Even een programmable logic controller neds human input otherwise it's just a piece of worthless plastic and wires.
