No, I will have to try to write one in rc(1).

The scrot is showing the rio window manager and is *not* running an X server, the programs are drawing on the pixel display directly and there are no xft fonts or suchlike, it is more akin to a console session running a framebuffer:

Thanks, yeah i read a little Wiki about Plan 9 and a bit framebuffer seeing your last scrots, It seems really interesting.
For older desktop as mine "Linux framebuffer" is a miracle. mpv app it is an ideal example for speed and practicality.

I don't, I think it's ugly and dysfunctional now, besides being way too heavily dependent on Red Hat's systemd. Anything that depends on systemd is now *owned* by it and its authors, and that includes the unwitting end user. Sorry for the rant but that's the sad current state of affairs.

Yours looks nice as well, I will be able
to install Xorg, but I need to download the source
and compile my own package, they do not have one
available,...this is going to take some work,
but it will be worth it,...I am sure.
There were packages for all the "tools" one needs
to write and compile most any kind of programs, etc.
The CLI is powerfull and efficient, sufficient as well.

No, I don't think so.

If you want Unity then install Ubuntu.

This took some work, but now I have Minix3.4
with Xorg, and some graphics,...display, etc.


Actually, it was not that hard, it turns out that the newest ISO's, do include
Xorg, the one I was using was older, and did not have it. With some help
from "support", suggesting I try a newer image,...it all works now.
As long as I have a Text editor, Image Magick,and a browser I am pretty content.
But also with openssh installed, I can access the other machines, and servers,...
so it is starting to be a complete system,,....fast and effeciant

What is your deal? Are you like, some kind of IT guy (master of *nixes) that slipped across the line of legality, and now on the run (Mexico) and bored out of your skull (playing with obscure operating systems)? I jest of course, just havin' a laugh, but seriously, if you're not making a boat load of money as an IT guy, you should be. You're doing some very interesting and amazing stuff, for which I wouldn't have the patience.

So I am working on another topic.
The question kind of opened a "can of worms". But I can say, I am not "hiding"
, I travel back and forth from here to the U.S regularly and legally.

Apparently Garry has recently studied OpenBSD and Minix. By coincidence I've also recently isntalled FreeBSD and Minix. Maybe we could have a separate thread about experience about non-linux. (like other stuff than what your desktop looks like - mine always looks like I haven't tuned it at all... mostly because I rarely do)

I was going to start another topic, on that, and did,...but then in the process
of also trying to explain about what and how I ended up in Mexico,...it got
all mixed up,..and went into things that happened back in the '60's,...
Actually, not all that recent, my first attempt with Minix was about 1 year ago,...

Ok well, then you might actually enjoy, what I wrote about, Mexico,etc,...but it got
so far off topic, it did not belong on this forum,... I will be putting it on my "personal"
site, later,....actually, some is all ready there,...but when I went to look for a
page, found the link is broken,...and now I do need to do my chores,.... later.
I enjoy writing as well.
