My office's workstation is called 'cerdita' (piglet), my portable workstation is called 'isabel', after my girlfriend's name.

My home server is called 'puntodeb', dotdeb in spanish.

It's amazing how after two years of post, this is still of the interest of everybody :)

All of my names are based on Bishoujosenshi Sailormoon 8)
Numbers refer to which slot in the router (no wireless).

1 Luna
A64 3200+/Venice
Win2000+SP4RU1
Luna is a black cat. Luna has a black case.

2 Galaxia
P166
No OS (not having much luck trying to install Linux :( )
This is a Packard Hell system. Due to that, it gets an evil character's name.

3 Mina
P3 450/Katmai
Debian sarge
This was my primary computer (with Win9x) for a long time. I wanted my primary computer to have my favorite senshi's name. ^.^

4 Hotaru
K6 233 (without the infamous bug)
No OS (re-installing Linux onto erased hd)
When this character was introduced, she was sick a lot. This is the PC I've had the most hardware trouble with. I would upgrade the CPU if I could find someone crazy enough to install it for me. It can be upgraded to a K6-2.

5 Artemis
Buffalo USB 2.0 print server box
Artemis is a white male cat, despite the name. The box is white, and needed a name for networking purposes -- but it isn't a PC either. So it was the "not quite fitting in" theme that got the box this name.

My workgroup is CrystalTokyo.

If my future PDA needs a name, it'll be Rini (the little kid senshi) ^.^

hiisi - a general purpose server/router/firewall, running Debian Sarge (stable). "Hiisi" is an ancient Finnish god(dess?) of earth. Nowadays it means a lesser evil spirit or some kind of mountain troll.

lempo - my main audio workstation/desktop computer, running Debian testing(AGNULA DeMuDi) and WinXP. "Lempo" is an ancient Finnish god of fire and fertility. In modern language it means - you guessed it - an evil spirit of some kind.

tonttu - a silent, small-scale mobile audio workstation/mixer-amplifier, running Debian testing(DeMuDi) and Windows 98SE Lite. "Tonttu" = the guy in my avatar.

I don't think I'm gonna need the Windozes in the future for anything other than continuing audio projects started by other people...and perhaps for gaming.

My Debian desktop is "burlap" and my wife's Windows laptop is "cashmere." That's because she one day referred to hers being "nice like cashmere" and mine being "rough like burlap" (this was when i first installed Debian and hadn't gotten ndiswrapper working yet). i thought of switching the two just because now i've got Debian working nicely, it works very nicely.
i've also thought renaming hers to "borg" and mine "federation," but she wouldn't catch the references or like them when she found out.
