Another experiment with a dark theme. This time I added the Debian name to a backdrop that matches the dark theme to pay homage to Debian. I decided to post the images, since these dark experiments are short-lived. (They drive me crazy quickly.)

Honestly the main reason I used scrot was because it was already there haha. Actually lately I've been using a screen cap plugin for gkrellm

That brought back good memories. :D

I had almost forgotten how the applications in the taskbar could be stacked on top of each other. It was a nice feature.

Thanks for suggestion. Dashboardy, could be useful if I needed to track network I/O and disk I/O (server mainly?) as well as processes.

htop is nice. I'm just keeping a very careful eye on Nautilus (tends to go 100% CPU sometimes) before Sid breaks the toys

I think I must be the only person on the Internet that quite likes Gnome desktop default without extensions. A touch of the Rob Pikes but with free software and recycled laptops...

This is now my default GUI schtick, it was the best of all possible combinations (available in the default repos, the 'Apple' look was an accident, greybird and agualemon blend really well, that's all), my opinion and taste of course, each to their own, I could have went Gartoon icons, etc, but I wanted 'normal', clean and modern. :D

The settings are in the pic, check out my nice custom root Thunar menu too (gksudo thunar), I have no clue why something like that wouldn't be a one click (enabled/disabled) option. :o

Edit: This thread has had over a half a million views, wow, incredible!

Got to love screenshots  this one is for fun and ingress tests on my others, it's a bit outdated but I have fun squashing bugs and spooky out the ghosts.

I like yours, there Thunar reminds me of Dolphin plus in my Xfce Thunar does have the icons for root actions... :)
The only clue I'll give for mine (may not help unles you cut and reverse image search) is I moved my KDE menu icon. ;)

Yes. Image
It's actually BackTrack-5r1 but if I update it ;) it's on an old T20 that is never connected to the net mostly to go along with my Ruby books.
