What does your desktop look like?

If it doesn't relate to Debian, but you still want to share it, please do it here

Thanks,
I still need a lot of practice with the "byzanz-record" but I enjoy it,
it is versatile, and could be excellent for makeing/showing step by step
stuff.
Here is one I just did now:

You will notice I had to try a few times, I was using "history", to get
my commands, and there were a lot of things in the history, I did
not want to record and post public.

Thanks, but but to give credit where it is due, I don't know
if I would have been able to do the perl script, with out the help
I got at "Perlmonks", but that would be another topic. I have some
"screen savers" as well, written with perl, but do not use them usually.
Lots to learn on that, just scratching the surface.

After seeing a post on the subreddit unixp*** of a conky based HUD, I was inspired to make my own. Image

Code: Select all
empty@sid ~ % vrms

No non-free or contrib packages installed on sid!  rms would be proud.

Damn, don't see that level of purity a lot any more... I just have a few.. of course, it's the few that make my wifi and bluetooth work, or let me watch netflix. And I can't imagine all or even most of my chromium extensions are open source.

Erm, well, the thing is...

I mean, wireless firmware, does that really count?

Like, say, for example if somebody copied all their iwl firmware from the dirty Arch subvolume to the nice, clean, pure Debian system then that would still be "free", right?

Right?

EDIT: Solarized!
