This is my desktop (Lenny, GNOME 2.20.3):
Image

Nothing fancy there, but it works for me. My laptop (Lenny, Openbox, conky and fbpanel) is probably a bit more exciting:
Image

The laptop took a fair bit of work to set up, but I love the way it turned out. Since the laptop was a bit of a reclamation project I could afford to experiment with it. If I broke it during the process I wasn't really going to lose anything anyway. :)

--Holy Crap! Is that Windows Vista?
--No. It's IceWM, the cool window manager, with a Vista theme.

Image

--Holy Flying Penguin! Is that KDE4?
--No. It's IceWM, the cool window manager, with a KDE4 theme.

Image

--How about that one? Is that... uhmm... IceWM, the cool window manager, with yet another theme?
--You got it. :)

All these themes, and more, can be found here.

Silenus, that is a really bizarre desktop background. Do you have a link to the original?

Yes I have it on my desktop, unfortunately I have been working on getting wireless and video on this laptop all day; next time I am at the desktop I will up it and a few other ones that I thought went well with it for you.
