I came across it from a Digg post. I really liked the detail in it, so it became the default wallpaper on both my machines.

My new laptop still has a clean look. I installed Debian Sid on it and this is of course the Gnome desktop.

Yea I like gnome also. My screenshot here was from my 32bit debian with Fluxbox but since I have debian64 installed and some extra space, I have it setup with Gnome also. Nice and clean even with a default install.

New install of debian etch. I have chose to make GNOME look more like KDE for the moment. I use GNOME with water vapor theme and nuovext-1.6 icons.

Might as well post mine, it's a pretty simple fluxbox setup. Didn't like any of the styles, I find that most really tend to challenge my eyesight so I modified the artwiz theme and created artwizE.

Actually, I found a new trick with fluxbox, I now have several of my favorite desktops mod keyed so I can switch them at the snap or should I say click of the fingers. Alt 1 brings up my Monday desktop, alt 2, Tuesday, etc. Why stick with one desktop when you can have many?

No one is bragging or claiming anything. It's just a thread where you can show people (that is interested in seeing it) what your desktop looks like. It's not a competition because 'a great desktop' is very much a subjective thing. And it's also a place where people into desktop customization can share ideas.

Thanks, yes it's just a standard Xfce desktop with a few custom launchers added.

Which XFCE debian disk did you download?

I downloaded the weekly build a qouple of days ago, the md5sum checkout and the selftest on the CD checkout, but I got an error installing, "Error= the install can't locate any modules for the kernel your currently using," I tried to continue, but it didn't have drivers to locate the nic or the CD.

I did a netinstall of Etch from the beta version that was released before the release candidate - about a month ago. By default it installed a Gnome desktop, I then installed xfce by apt-get.

Ok I see, does just "apt-get install xfce" get the whole deal or is there several packages to get like KDE and Gnome do?
