Debian stretch running GNOME:

As you can see, systemd-networkd is now in charge of the connections, the interface-specific wpa_supplicant unit file needed for wireless connections is now included and switching away from /etc/network/interfaces and the antediluvian ifupdown scripts now means that network.target is reached in a matter of milliseconds whereas previously I was suffering with a several second delay.

Jessie with the Trinity desktop and a few backports. I keep everything set up so it's in the docker at the bottom or the panel at the top; no icons on the desktop. I figure if I have to do an extra click or whatever to drop to a bare desktop it's bad design...
