I've been tweaking, so here are some shots of current Debian Lenny/Openbox desktop...

This is the vanilla desktop. Conky giving system info on the right and the toolbar at the bottom made up of conky, stalonetray and visibility-python.

This one is showing dmenu at the top and the pop-up calendar on the clock (you cannot see it but the mouse is in the bottom right corner).

And Now with a couple of applications running plus Apwal (the icons appear wherever the mouse pointer is on the desktop at the click of the mouse).

Debian Testing, KDE 3.5.9, myself created GPL'd color scheme - based upon this color scheme, Oxygen for KDE3icons, wallpaper from here.
