Topside is a version of flwn with the active window panel moved from the side to the top

I never got worried about how my desktop looks like and I never spent my time in customize it, so it keeps as the first install. Needless to submit an image to make you know how my desktop look like...(saving space in the server)

You can not upload files to this forum.

The way you did it is fine, but if you want a thumb nail (smaller image) to
show here, you would need to resize the image and make a thumbnail,..
Then you could use the image box code, as explained in the above link.

The url and image link would look something like this:

I notice "snag.gy" does not seem to have a option to make a thumb nail automatically , you would need to do that manually, with 2 separate images.

Spectrwm in Debian 8.7. In my opinion, spectrwm is simple and more intuitive to use than i3.

Debian stretch now offers runit-init in the repositories and it seems to work very well indeed as a straight drop-in replacement for the init-system-that-shall-not-be-named:

runit is a cross-platform Unix init scheme with service supervision, a replacement for sysvinit, and other init schemes.

runit is optimized for reliability and small size. The amount of code in process no 1 should be minimal.

Yes, but can you pin the unnamed init completely out of existence for the life of that install version? What apps will want to pull the unnamed init in? Enquiring minds want to know, dum dum dum dummmmmmm (for emphasis on the drama, lol). This is bittersweet good news though, I sincerely and deeply miss Debian.

Alas not, my friend

The systemd-shim is in use along with systemd-udevd and systemd-logind is assigning the user sessions, as is required by any dbus-dependent programs:

1915 /lib/systemd/systemd-logind

But systemd is *not* booting the box and runit is firmly in charge:

It should certainly be possible to use runit-init in Devuan though, I may try that myself...

EDIT: I booted into a snapshot of the system and ran `apt purge systemd`, this removed the systemd-shim along with networkmanager and lightdm (among others) and I could not `startx` from a console login afterwards because of permission-related errors:
