Thanks - I love low lighting, and neon lighting. This is a good combination of the two.

I've been replaying Portal 2 over the Xmas period. It's been several years and I could hardly remember any of it, it was effectively like playing it for the first time. It's a masterpiece - and that's not a word I use lightly [and it runs perfectly on Debian].

Debian 9 installed on my old X60 with no desktop and added Xorg, network-manager, evilwm, mtpaint, mpg123, vlc and a few other bits and pieces together with openoffice and firefox 58 beta running from downloaded binary packages.

No .xinitrc, just allowing Debian to set x-window-manager alternative and adding a couple of aliases to xterm. I have set an .Xresources file that customises xterm.

About as minimal as it gets I think. Fun.

I think minimalist is best.

With regards to my KDE trial, I found that, in spite of the fact that it's very configurable, I just prefer the look and feel of GNOME.

You are posting same desktop with different wallpaper all the time, whats the point?

I guess to show off how they know how to click the "change wall paper" button, ?

I just wish they would learn to at least use thumbnails, but maybe that is to complicated for them. (It is not just Bloom on that).

My desktop does not change much either, but sometimes I like to "show off" a different
background , (wallpaper) as well, no problem there, but please learn how to use thumbnails.

except nobody remembers, or is able to find it anymore, esp. since Bloom has been spamming this thread for quite a while now.

maybe a mod/admin could split off the bit where Bloom advertises their script?

They are not really thumbnails, but any way I have started a new topic,
not to argue, but to try to discuss this more, without derailing this " What does your desktop look like " topic. Maybe, bloom can make some changes in his/her script, if they have one, from what I read in the link you show, all they have is
something that downloads 1000's of images , and changes wallpapers, ever few minutes,..

The XFCE 4.1x desktop enviroment can change the wallpaper itself and you can set a timer, but if you have several thousands of wallpapers, it is unbearingly slow. So I wrote a bash script to do it for me: that's blazingly fast.
If you want it, just let me know.

All my desktop computers and notebooks share the same desktop environment, so I can't show another desktop -- just other wallpapers as my system changes these every 5 minutes and gets them from a NAS volume where several thousands are stored.

Wouldn't it just be simpler , to post a link to this "Nas volume", and then those
that want to see the 1000's of images can browse it ? The purpose of this thread is to show new desktop environments, when people make changes....
new wallpapers, downloaded from some site is some thing else.
Any way, better to discuss this in another topic.

All my desktop computers use the same desktop environment, so I can't show anything else. I was hoping the different wallpapers would be appreciated by people who, like me, collect nice ones. Exposing my in-home systems to the internet is not an option for me.
If you consider these posts spamming (even if I don't do it every day and sometimes only once a week of a month?), I'll stop posting here. Simple.

do what you want, I don't have time for pointless arguments.

Maybe there is a clue here... What does YOUR desktop look like?
