My wife made the very cruel mistake of buying me a Chromebook....refurbished....which has ended it's update lifetime.
Of course, I never used Chromebook. I installed Crouton and just Linuxed from that limited status.
I am frustrated, though. I want Google outta there! I want nothing but Linux goodness on this book!
I have failed to find any solution online for this problem, least one that I can understand.
I know if anyone can help me, it would be the Debians!
So....? Help me Frankenstein this Chromebook?

What is the make and model of the Chromebook?

Have you looked at something like GalliumOS?

I have no experience with chromebooks but I understand you might be able to turn it into a Linux laptop via mr. chromebox firmware and a 5.0+ kernel, you could ask the user of this post, he might offer some guidance for you.

^^^ This is what I would use (if your Chromebook model is supported).

Here are some additional links: ... -hardware/ ... gallium-os
