Hello Debian-Forum,
i am currently transitioning from Windows to Debian. One major Problem is currently that i can't install a Driver for my graphics card.
What i have:
- Everything is running on top of unRaid 6 (Shouldn't be a unRaid Problem, right?)
- HD7850
What i did:
- Clean install Debian Jessie + KDE (netinst):
KDE and other Programs working fine. Can play YouTube Videos ( Still investigating why it tears)
- https://wiki.debian.org/AtiHowTo :
Xorg just freezes on boot. KDM leaves it since it entered D State. Can't even properly shutdown my Computer.
When i remove the firmware-linux-nonfree package. Everything works again
- https://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary :
Not getting a Video Signal at all after grub.
- Proprietary Driver from AMD directly:
Not getting a Video Signal at all after grub.
Logfiles:
Current State (Working): http://pastebin.com/WvMZxZf2
AtiHowTo: Log didn't contain a lot of text (No Errors) . Last line was: xfree86: Adding drm device (/dev/dri/card0)
Thanks,
