Install from USB to Powerbook G4

#1 Post by andfree »

Hello. I don't have any experience of Debian; last two years I use Antix. I want to install Linux to a Powerbook G4. There's not a ppc antix iso, I thought Debian as something too complicated for me, so I tried with an Ubuntu 12.04 ppc iso I found. But before the installation finish, it crashed in a black screen. Now, there is no OS installed and the live-CD is inside, but when I boot from it, there's again a black screen. My only hope is booting from usb flash drive. I used unetbootin to put debian-8.8.0-powerpc-netinst.iso into the flash disk, and tried to boot with the command

Code: Select all

boot usb0/disk@1:,\\:yaboot
but I got the message

Code: Select all

can't OPEN: usb0/disk@1:,\\:yaboot
Any help, please?
