Debian 9 & Parallels

#1 Post by MacTerryH »

When I Mount The Parallels Tools iso On The Desktop & Get The Properties; When I'm Logged In To The Root Account. It Says I Do Not Own The Files, & Therefore I Can Not Run The Installer ???

Any Thoughts ??

Thanks

Most likely the installer doesn't have execute bit set. Try setting execute permission at mount time with "exec" or "umask" options.

With Some Help From Ivan At Parallels , I Finally Got The Tools Installed !!!
You Must Use This Modified Command To Unlock The .iso Of The Parallels Tools !!!

su mount -oro,exec,remount /media/cdrom

After That Is Done; Go To The Terminal As su ; & Install The Following 2 Items

GCC & DKMS

Then Run The gui Installer By Double Clicking On It's Icon !!!

Takes About 5 Minutes, & Requires A Restart ; But All Good Now !!!!!!!

Hope This Helps Someone Out There
