I have Debian 9 with gnome 3.22 and i am trying to install this metacity theme https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1006881/. I extracted the theme files in /usr/share/themes but when i go to the Tweak Tool>Appearence>GTK+ i don't see the theme there.
What is the right way to install metacity theme?

Not sure how to use these. If i type any of the two lines in the terminal i get 'no such schema':
Code: Select all
gsettings set org.gnome.metacity.theme type metacity
gsettings set org.gnome.metacity.theme name THEME_NAME
Re: Unable to install metacity theme on Debian gnome
Then you havn't installed metacity yet, which means you are not using GNOME Flashback? I'm not sure, I don't use GNOME myself.
It seems that your chosen theme does not contain a mutter theme. So it probably won't work under the standard GNOME Shell session.
