nautilus
In order to delete files in /var/log, I ran
Code: Select all
gksudo nautilus
Is there a command which will delete files in trash? Thank you.

if there are no files in root's trashcan, there's nothing to delete. Is there a command which will delete files in trash? Thank you.

no, i did not say that.hthi wrote:You say, if you runthen, what you click right and move to trash, is deleted? Are you sure?Code: Select all

yes, because moving things to trash is not the same as deleting.Further more in /var/log I moved to trash about 40gb of files. I did it
because the system was close to 0gb of free space.
After restarting I was unable to start the gui desktop. Telling me
the system could not run because of lack of free space.
no, when you run as root, it means you run as the user named root, essentially.I cannot find the location. I
navigated to /home/pc/.local/share/Trash. The 3 folders were
empty.
Code: Select all
/root/.local/share/Trash/files
I thought sudo gksudo nautilus would be faster.through the terminal, or preferably programmatically.
