[SOLVED] Windows Network WORKGROUP

#1 Post by user2635 »

Hi guys, I've just installed the latest version of Debian and I'm a complete newbie (after discovering recommended OSes here: https://privacytoolsio.github.io/privacytools.io/#os).

I'm trying to access the windows network, I can see WORKGROUP on other locations but when I click it, I get '“Failed to retrieve share list from server”.

Can anyone help?

Perhaps a quick review of the Samba Client setup wiki will reveal the solution:

Are cifs-utils and smbclient installed? Like it says at the outset - should work right out of the box. These type issues are typically solved with just getting the right packages installed.
