New Terminal not opening

#1 Post by kman.devnull »

Hi,
I have installed "debian-8.7.1-i386-netinst.iso".

1. After logging in, when I press "shift+ctrl+N" - the new terminal doesn't open.
2. Now, by using the mouse/keyboard open the terminal via the "Activities". Now with this terminal open, press "shift+ctrl+N" it opens the "new" terminal.
3. Now close both of these opened terminals.
4. Press "shift+ctrl+N" - the new terminal doesn't open.

What am I missing? Kindly advise.

Many thanks.

Shift+ctrl+N will open a new terminal as long as you already have Terminal active.

Otherwise you will have to configure shift+ctrl+N [or whatever shortcut you like] via the Custom Shortcuts option in Keyboard.

NB: the above link is for an old version of Cinnamon DE but the principle is the same for GNOME [which I assume you are using, if not, it should still be of some help].
