Problem to Install libssl-dev

#1 Post by vikozo »

apt install libssl-dev

Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut.
Statusinformationen werden eingelesen.... Fertig

Hi vikozo,
You have posted 5 topics, all related to the same problem, about package dependences:
Problem and error to install libpq-dev
Problem and error Installing libkrb5-dev
Problem and error to install libc-client2007e-dev
Problem to Install libssl-dev
Sie haben zurückgehaltene defekte Pakete
A translation from, for example, translate.google.com would help other forum members, who don't know German, to understand your question and help solve it.
apt install libssl-dev

Read package lists ... Done
Dependency tree is built.
Status information is read in .... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation, or if you are using the unstable distribution, some required packages have not yet been created, or have not yet left Incoming. The following information may help you solve the situation:

The following packages have unfulfilled dependencies: libssl-dev: Depends on: libssl1.0.0 (= 1.0.1t-1 + deb8u6) but 1.0.2l-1 ~ bpo8 + 1 should be installed Recommended: libssl-doc is not installed E: Problems can not be corrected, you have backed defective packages.
DebianStable

Code: Select all

$ vrms

No non-free or contrib packages installed on debian! rms would be proud.

Judging by this and your previous posts about troubles of installing packages, maybe your root problem is something else than dependencies for single packages. Some common issues can be ruled out by inspecting the sources list. Give us the output for:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/apt/sources.list; cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.list
Debian 10.2 Stable with i3
Secure your stuff: Securing Debian Manual
Don't break your stuff: Source List Management DontBreakDebian

It seems the OP expects us to translate his multifarious posts and solve his issue. Maybe he should go here if he does not want to include an English translation with his posts:

Using Google Translate here's the terminal output from the various posts translated into English:

You have held broken packages. The following packages have unfulfilled dependencies:libssl-dev: Depends on: libssl1.0.0 (= 1.0.1t-1 + deb8u6) but 1.0.2k-1 ~ bpo8 + 1 should be installed E: Problems cannot be corrected, you have held broken packages.

It says that a backported package should be installed, but the /etc/apt/sources.list does not include jessie-backports.
Therefore, you could try adding this repository by editing the file to include the following line:

Code: Select all

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main
followed by

Code: Select all

apt-get update
It's a good idea when resolving problems with package dependencies to first simulate package installation and second to install the desired packages from backports as detailed at backports.debian.org/Instructions.
For example:

Code: Select all

aptitude -t jessie-backports install --simulate package
In the terminal for full information see:

Code: Select all

man aptitude
Aptitude often handles package dependencies better than apt.
DebianStable

Code: Select all

$ vrms

No non-free or contrib packages installed on debian! rms would be proud.

Even if the backports repository is active, it's pinned at the lowest priority, so the user must explicitly install the backports version with (example)

Code: Select all

apt-get install libssl-dev -t jessie-backports
This is clearly explained in the instructions at backports.org. The OP is not getting any Debian points so far... :(
