#1 Post by cuthead »

debian wiki mentions
If your graphic card is etc. 2007 and newer, try uninstalling xserver-xorg-video-intel and use the builtin modesetting driver instead.
after do that my debian gnome go fast, but my debian openarena go slow.
what does this mean?where and what is builtin modesetting driver?what is video driver run on user space, does it means limit performance?

The Intel DDX driver (xserver-xorg-video-intel) is responsible for handling 2D graphics, Openarena's 3D visuals are handled by the MESA drivers.
