Terminator/Slim Problem

#1 Post by SocietalSeppuku »

System Details:
New Install - Debian 9.1.0-i386
Minimal Install with Openbox

Problem:
I am unable to open my terminal (terminator) after a logoff-logon
I have to reboot to get it to run correctly again.
Xterm still works.
The problem seemed to have only started after installing Slim login-manager.
It works just fine upon the first login (on boot) but if I exit my openbox session (which will take me to slim login) - If I re-login terminator will not load anymore until I reboot the system.

Strange problem, and I thank you for any help or insight you may have on this issue.

EDIT: 11:17am - Removing Slim fixes the problem - after removing slim I am able to logout/login of my openbox session from the console itself and open terminator with no problem. So I do believe the login manager has something to do with it. I would like to keep it if anyone has an idea of what could be happening.

I think, good decision will be uninstall Slim, and use startx functionality...
